CPC Driver Training

What is Driver CPC Training?

Driver CPC is a certificate of professional competence which has been introduced to improve road safety and maintain high driving standards across Europe. As of September 10th 2009 it has become European Legislation that all professional heavy goods vehicle, bus and coach drivers must hold their Driver CPC before they can drive for a living.

Without the Driver CPC you cannot drive for a living, without the Driver CPC your drivers cannot work for you.

Who Needs Driver CPC Training?

All new HGV, bus and coach drivers must acquire their Driver CPC before they can commence work. Existing drivers who hold a C, C1, CE, C1E, D, D1, DE or D1E licence issued before 10th September 2009 (2008 for bus and coach drivers) are eligible for ‘acquired rights’ and do not need to take the initial qualification.

All professional drivers MUST complete 35 hours of periodic training every five years to retain their Driver CPC. This means that every HGV driver in the EU must undertake an average of 7 hours training every year to keep their right to drive for a living. Training modules are designed to be relevant to a Drivers knowledge and everyday experiences. There is no recorded pass or fail to CPC.
